Jour 1
Elevation gain: 1100 meters Description: The first day is the most challenging in terms of elevation gain. The route begins at the valley bottom, at Plampinet, ascending along well-marked trails that lead to the breathtaking viewpoint, the Col des Acles. Along the way, we will pass remains of fortifications and other military artifacts, evidence of the region's wartime history. We will arrive in the evening at the Guido Rey hut, where Pierre and his staff will be there to welcome us and we can rest and enjoy the starry views.
Jour 2
Elevation gain: 800 meters Description: The second day has a smaller but no less impressive elevation gain. We will continue the hike through enchanted forests and alpine meadows, with the possibility of encountering local fauna and enjoying the typical flora of the region. The path will take us toward the Passo dell'Orso, where we'll take our pic-nic lunch prepared by Pierre. From here we'll have another great view on a really wild and severe valley and perhaps the opportunity of reaching the summit of the Gran Hoche. The final descent leads to the valley location where we will end the tour. Practical advice: Equipment: It is essential to have suitable equipment, including hiking boots, layered clothing, hat, gloves, buff or neck gaiter, backpack: 30-40 liters with a rain cover, trekking poles, food (Lightweight, high-calorie snacks like energy bars, dried fruits, nuts), water, personal items (sunscreen and lip balm, pain relievers, toiletries, cash and credit card, sheet bag.
